Cut the Plywdood

Measure and mark the piece of plywood you need to cut:

QTY Part Dimensions
1 Base 200mm x 150mm 2 Side-Long 224mm x 112mm 2 Side-Short 112mm x 150mm

Use a circular saw with a straight edge as your guide, as shown in the pictures. You can also use a track saw if you have one. Use your flat file to remove splinters and tear-outs and to smooth all cut edges.

Note: My starting plywood board was 24"x16". It is a good idea to lay out some lines to make sure you can get all your pieces out of your starting piece.

Nail the Short sides to the Bottom

Add glue to the edges of the bottom board. You can do this one edge at a time to avoid smearing glue all over your hands, tools, or working surface when you nail the side boards to the bottom. You can use a dedicated Silicone Glue Brush, a small piece of plywood off-cut, an old credit card, or even your fingers to spread out the glue evenly. I use a small piece of aluminum off-cut from one of my other projects.

Use your brad nailer (mine is an 18GA RIDGID brad nailer) to connect the first short side board to the bottom. Use the trigger clamps you have to set up the two pieces before committing to the nrailing. Make the edges flush

Safety & disclaimers

Take safety seriously. Wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times when working on this project. Read all manufacturers' user manuals to familiarize yourself with your equipment. Wear safety glasses/goggles and/or a face shield while using a circular saw or brad nailer. Wear tear-resistant gloves when working with plywood to avoid getting splinters. Use extra caution when using the brad nailer. Do not point the nailer towards anyone. A brad nailer basically works like a gun and shoots out brad nails as projectiles. Do not place your hand or other body parts underneath the nailer tip. When reloading the nailer, disconnect from the air supply (air compressor).
